We currently live near a pond that has frozen over and Autumn has been excitedly asking weekly when we can expect to see ice skating there… Unfortunately, I don’t think it’s going to happen this winter at our pond (maybe others in our area though!). To make up for that, we decided to take her to the ice skating rink at Bryant Park so she could finally experience it in person. On the way we stopped in Grand Central for treats and cute window shopping. When we arrived at the rink it was just opening, so Autumn played with ice while we waited for the skaters to come out and perform.
When they finally did come out, it was very exciting! There were several youth groups performing in costume. These girls in the yellow and pink costumes were my favorite - such a cheerful color combination! Autumn really enjoyed watching the ice skating with us.
After that, we went to warm up and browse in Kinokuniya Bookstore for a bit and then Autumn came back outside to make a wish in the fountain. She was pretty pleased with herself. ;) Next, we headed towards Chinatown to see the Lunar New Year parade! You can see my photos from that here. We wandered around a bit after that trying to find a train station that was open to take us back to Grand Central. We saw lots of neat stuff along the way and I even found a Pressed Juicery shop selling the new Minnie Mouse drinks! We grabbed two to go and right before we got on our train home I picked up two Magnolia Cupcakes to try. I shared the juice and cupcakes with Autumn and they were super delicious!!
